Well after an eventful morning the Spring Branch/Triniy team on the Delta flight has had a small change of plans. Our Nicaragua adventures will begin with an overnight in Atlanta! Our flight was delayed due to technical difficulties, which caused us to miss our connecting flight. Thankfully Delta already re-booked us for tomorrow and will put us up for the night in Atlanta! So our new arrival time is Tuesday around noon Nica time.
As for the rest of the team, they should make it today!
Well, hopefully next post will be from Nica! Thanks again for all your prayers!
Natalie. I called Delta baggage claim here (with Stephanie's blessing) to see if I could find out about your bags. A lady in Norf looked up Jessie's name and said her bag was to go out on tomorrow's flight (Wed). She also showed Jess in a group so she said they should all go. If you need me to check on any bags I have to have the bag tag or claim number. Glad you're there safely. Who needs clothes..... :-)
ReplyDeleteOn the positive side, everyone that had to pay the unexpected $30 for second bag can get a rebate for $25 on next flight. Also, reasonable expenses up to $50 first day and $25 each day after may be refunding. Shopping anyone?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm glad everyone made it there safely. I'm sure this will be an experience to add to the experience of Nicaragua.
As a frequent flyer of Delta Airlines, I contacted them with an email and explained the situation of the flight delay and the extra delayed luggage. I mentioned to them that the 2nd luggage was for donations to an orphanage in Nicaragua. I politely asked if they could refund the $30 per bag and/or donate an amount to Orphan Network.
ReplyDeleteWell, Delta Airlines went well beyond that request and has planned to refund the $30 to those that paid for the 2nd bag (refund to credit card). In addition Delta Airlines has already sent me 29 electronic vouchers in the amount of $200 for everyone that was affected by this delay and luggage issue. This $200 can be used for future travel or may be next year's Nicaragua trip.
I will be sending a thank you to Delta and provide them a link to this blog so that they can see what great work this team is doing. I will work with the church to get the electronic vouchers to the correct individual.
